I had been in and out of prison for most of my adult life. After prison, I found myself slipping yet again. I never solidified my relationship with God and I never walked it out. I went back to drugs and I repeated my same old behaviors. And I wound up in trouble again. I had taken my eyes off the ball and I had slipped. But this time, through God's intervention, my family's help, and a lot of prayer, instead of prison the court allowed me to come to Shenandoah Valley Teen Challenge.
At Teen Challenge, I had the opportunity to learn about God, addiction, and the underlying problems: anger, grief, and forgiveness. I am finally, through God's help, making rights out of wrongs, forgiving, and being forgiven. I am building self-esteem and addressing my self-destructive behaviors. And I am making the necessary changes in my life.
